Cervia Salt Marsh is the southernmost station of the Po Delta Regional Park and is considered an environment of the highest natural and scenic interest, so much so that it has been included as a Wetland of International Importance in the Ramsar Convention. Since 1979 it has become a State Nature Reserve for animal populations. the environment of the salt marshes is extraordinarily beautiful and evocative: populated by rare species such as Flamingos, Black-winged Stilts, Avocets and other protected species, it is a point of reference for visitors sensitive to environmental aspects. The naturalistic preservation of the Cervia Salt Marsh is entrusted to the Forestry Corps in charge of supervision, which, in accordance with the constraints set forth in the decree establishing the Nature Reserve, prohibits free access to the protected area. Visits are therefore allowed only if accompanied by the Forest Guards or takes place at the Cervia Saltpan Visitor Center, information point of the Po Delta Park.
