From the end of November until Epiphany (6th of January) Ossana fascinates with its path of the 1000 cribs. In the picturesque small village of Ossana the event “Ossana, il borgo dei 1000 presepi” (Ossana, the village of the 1000 cribs”) takes place already for many years. This festive highlight in the Val di Sole valley should not be missed! The path of the 1000 cribs is lighted by ancient oil lamps, it starts at the San Michele Castle and leads through the streets and alleys of Ossana.
The exhibited cribs are all handmade, by voluntary organisations, artists, local families, schools and townsmen of the entire Val die Sole valley. The unique items are manufactured creatively and are made from unusual materials, such as maize leaves, fabrics or seeds.
The ancient patios of the village are filled with light and music so that a festive walk along the path of the 100 cribs will stay in your memories for a long time!
