About Valley of 100 waterfalls

Valley of 100 waterfalls - Cesacastina | Secret World Trip Planner

he valley takes its name from the dozens of waterfalls and cascades that the Fosso dell'Acero stream, which is very rich in water, especially in the late spring period, feeds in its whirling descent among centuries-old beech forests, rich pastures and gigantic sandstone slabs, under the austere gaze of the peaks of Corno Grande (2,912 m, the highest peak in the Apennines) and Pizzo di Intermesoli (2,635 m.), which seem to watch over the smooth progress of events from above. In late spring-early summer, the trail, which leads to the 1,759 m. of the Cento Fonti Amphitheater (and even higher for more experienced hikers), is dotted with stunning highland wildflowers, including several species of orchids.
